There is a man suffering from a horrible condition called Hemangioma and begging for money on the street in NY. I met him yesterday and his spirit inspired me.
PLEASE HELP ME FIND HIM AND HELP HIM
I met Nelson Garzon yesterday, and I almost immediately broke into tears. His face is disfigured by venal malformations to the point where his lower jaw protrudes out 4 inches and his teeth are pushed out of place. His spirit remains strong and I am inspired to help him. I gave him some money, and he touched his heart, pointed at me and handed me a card that said this:

I emailed the address below to see if it is indeed his email address, and am awaiting a response. I have reached out to a contact of mine who works at The Oprah Winfrey Network, to see if they would be interested in featuring his story and helping him. If I hear back from him, I will follow up with them and see what opportunities could be available to him.
I have my fingers crossed, and just want to help.

I met Nelson on the street today and gave him a small donation which I knew it wouldn't help much. I wish I could do more to help him. Then he handed me a little post card with the heart warming message along with his name. I tried to google him and came across your blog. I'm not wealthy by any account, but if I can donate, and maybe help, I can raise awareness build support for him. No one should have to live like that. Please help me help him.

I still have not been able to get in contact with him directly. I know several people have given him my information, because the last person to give him my info, he seemed to recognize my name. I'm hopeful that his brother will call or email me as his brother supposedly speaks better english. I will be setting up the website www.HelpNelson.net in order to take donations, but I don't want to accept any money or start a kickstarter until I know i can get the money to him.

I saw him today (Monday July 22nd 2013) on 34th Street between 7th and 8th Avenue, on the south side of 34th street, closer to seventh avenue than eighth. He gave me his card and tonight I googled his name and found this site. If I see him again I will ask him for his contact info so I can give it to you. Ideally I will also google his name and show him your webpage.

Hello. I also saw him today and was touched by his gratitude and kind spirit. I wondered how much the cards he gives out must have cost him to print and it made me realize he is spreading positivity with the quotes and bringing awareness to his condition. I wish I could have been able to give him more. I think what he gave me affected me on a greater level than the small change I gave him. I think he has a lot to share with the world and wait in anticipation in what transpires from you reconnecting with him.

Hello, I used to see Nelson Garzon on 6th Ave at 23rd Street, near the Chase Bank for several years, up until 2016. I gave him money usually each time I saw him--and I have several of his cards with his poetic message. But I have not seen him since then. Each time I saw him he mentioned an upcoming surgery--if I understood correctly.
