Nelson Garzon

There is a man suffering from a horrible condition called Hemangioma and begging for money on the street in NY. I met him yesterday and his spirit inspired me.

PLEASE HELP ME FIND HIM AND HELP HIM

I met Nelson Garzon yesterday, and I almost immediately broke into tears. His face is disfigured by venal malformations to the point where his lower jaw protrudes out 4 inches and his teeth are pushed out of place. His spirit remains strong and I am inspired to help him. I gave him some money, and he touched his heart, pointed at me and handed me a card that said this:

The flower is the most symbolic visible form of what life is: beautiful, fragile, ephemeral... enjoy it!

We are an instant that disappears in time; There is nothing to hide; and nothing to lose.

Life is suffering because of it's form; It is beauty because if it's nature; and a mystery because of it's miracle.

We have a mind so narrow, that we evoke with more strength, a more insignificant offense than hundreds of received benefits

Enjoy a boy's smile and console and old person's tears

Ugliness is like the herb, beauty is like the flower; If one dries up the other withers. In essence the same thing.

We have to help this man suffering from this horrible condition. Even if you can just help me find him, I can try to help. I was in New York for work and only had a chance to meet him briefly at Broadway and Chambers in Soho.

UPDATE: 3/6/12
I emailed the address below to see if it is indeed his email address, and am awaiting a response.  I have reached out to a contact of mine who works at The Oprah Winfrey Network, to see if they would be interested in featuring his story and helping him. If I hear back from him, I will follow up with them and see what opportunities could be available to him.

I have my fingers crossed, and just want to help.

Thank you and XXXXXXXX Television for locating and sending me XXXXXXX's tape. That was the last video I have of her. The funny part was she had lost weight and because she was trying to get on the show we stuffed her and made her look bigger! I had forgotten what all she did on the tape. The day I recieved it in XXXXXXXX it was on my XXth wedding anniversary. It was like a gift from her. Watching it was like having her sitting in our living room having a conversation about life, XXXXXX, and XXXXXXX just being XXXXXX. In the video she is wearing a necklace that XXXXXXX and I gave to her to mark our XXth anniversary to pass down to XXXXX. We have watched it enough now that we don't cry everytime. Know that we appreciate your thoughtfulness more than words can express. If you ever want to come to Mardi Gras or Jazz Fest. you are welcome to stay at our house. The XXXXXX's offer southern hospitality with a twist! LOL I promise it isn't the Bates Hotel or the Vatican.
