Of love and death

Recently, it feels like it's getting harder and harder to keep me alive. It's not a deathwish or a accident prone lifestyle, it's my throat.

About a month ago, I had a fairly scary experience. At my wedding rehearsal dinner, I almost choked to death. Only the quick thinking of my wife and the quick action of one of my best friends, saw me through that.
I have to admit, it was also too fast to get scared, but for a few seconds, I was scared shitless.

Check out any of the promo photos for the fox show "House." Most of them feature the cast all looking down at the camera, looking like they're examining a patient. Funny enough, but while I felt my life draining out of my pores onto the floor, that the image that kept flashing into my mind's eye. My only thought was, I hope I wake up in the ER with a team like that over me, cause otherwise, I'm not waking up at all. It's a scary thought, and a little depressing, but at the time it didn't have a huge effect on me, not the way it would on most people.

R.I.P. Maggie Copperpot

Maggie Copperpot
2000-2007

Maggie Copperpot passed away last night. She fought a hard battle with Kitty Lymphoma. We didn't have her very long, but we loved every minute we did have with her.

Sleep well Kitty.

THE perfect example of why Americans are fat (PIC)

Not a fake, not a shop. You won't believe it when you see it, but it's real and it's popular. From the Los Angeles County Fair.

Hate

Isn't it weird, how some days the whole world just all decides to fucking hate you at once? I guess I can handle it better when it's just smaller groups...

Radio

So I'm in Kentucky right now. I'm waiting to do my third radio interview of the morning. I already did a live TV spot for ABC. How weird.

My life has taken me to some very interesting places lately.

Centralia, PA.
Seattle underground
Grassy noll in Dallas

Cool places, interesting people. Always away from home though. I'm getting married in October and I still am only seeing my fiancee every other week. I guess that's twice as much as the once a month it was before.

I still only see my family about twice a year. Never enough.

I have to go be charming with dj's who seem annoyed with me.

Centralia, PA

Tomorrow, I'm traveling to the ghost town of Centralia, PA.

In case you aren't aware, Centralia, Pa is the inspiration for the film version of the game Silent Hill.

Centralia is a ghost town in Pennsylvania that has been virtually deserted since an underground mine fire started burning in 1962.

I'll post pictures tomorrow night.

Update: June 2007

Hello there neglected blog readers.  I'm sorry I'm so bad about writing.  It's a curse.  But the upswing is that the reason I haven't written is that I have a lot going on and therefore, not as much time to sit and ruminate and write about my life.  Here's a list of the cities I've visited since December.  Maybe then you'll see why I don't update this thing that not many people read.  (Yes, I can tell how many and where you are, just know who)

Business trips since December '06
  • Cincinnati, Ohio
  • Abilene/Dallas, Texas
  • Grand Junction, Colorado
  • New Orleans, Louisiana (Mardi Gras)
  • Macon, Georgia
  • Philadelphia/Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
  • La Crosse, Wisconsin
  • Atlanta, Georgia
  • Chicago, Illinois
So that list is why I suck at staying in contact with friends and family and stuff I should really do, like paying bills.

Just so you know.

Josh

Short one

Brief brief this time.

Just spent two days in Philly, then two days in Harrisburg, Pa. Still casting for Supernanny. I started on season 3 and am continuing on through season 4.

In personal news, Steph and I just registered for our wedding. We're registered at macy's for fine china and the like and Target for everything else. Steph still won't let me register for fireworks. Oh well. If you want to look it up and are having trouble finding it look under Joshua Mills on October 13th.

That's all for now.

Taxitime update

I'm writing this while sitting in a cab, so bear with me on the typos and spelling errors.
I'm on my way to Macon, Ga right now. Flight to ATL then rental car to macon.
I'm still working on Supernanny. It's a pretty good job and the show's pretty popular. I'm happy with the steady paycheck and cool coworkers.
Steph is living here in LA now and it's been pretty great. She has a job now and is at the end of her second week. She likes it well enough.
Right now, I still feel like there aren't enough hours in the day to do all the things I want to do and still sleep a decent amount.
Oh well, like I told Eric a long time ago: You can always sleep later.

Xo,

Josh

Hotel Arlen

Hotel room
Night again
Explained central time to a 23 year old woman born here, today
So I guess it's not so silly that you can't remember when veronica mars is on
My head is sore and tired
I'm waiting for sleep
Alone, again
Hotel, again
Liver aches
Eyes hurt
It's funny how I drive the same car to the same hotel everytime
Same chain-restaurant nightmare
A panera bread
Texas roadhouse
Chili's
Chotchski's
Flingers
At least luby's is here, and so is sonic
I am so getting the luann platter as soon as humanly frickin' possible.
If my shitty rental car ran on propane, I'd fill up a strickland propane.
Drove through anson texas twice lately. Anson, arlen? Sound similar.

A guy can dream.

Until I wake up.
